AT HSLEAPS

MISSION

The mission of the High School for Law Enforcement School Counseling Department is to provide a program that supports every student in becoming college and career ready, academically successful, and socially and emotionally strong. This will be accomplished through collaboration with the school community and various partners that will also introduce students to careers in law enforcement and public safety.

VISION

The High School for Law Enforcement and Public Safety School Counseling Program will empower all students to become career-ready citizens and leaders in their communities academically and socially.  Students will be committed to pursuing excellence in themselves, their communities, and the world. Students will be prepared to pursue careers in law enforcement, public safety, and the judicial system, attend college, and/ or enter the workforce.

RESOURCES

To support our students in developing these essential skills, NYCDOE is implementing an SEL screener and intervention program that will help in providing targeted, highly responsive support to each individual student. We will build on each student's strengths while identifying skills they need to further develop.
